Woman’s cause of death revealed months after body found in car park

A woman’s cause of death has been revealed months after her body was found.

47-year-old Jolene McKenzie was discovered unresponsive in a tent in Culver Street Car Park, Salisbury, on the evening of Thursday 13 April.

Emergency services rushed to help, but efforts to revive her were unsuccessful – and she was pronounced dead at the scene at 10.15pm.

Police subsequently arrested a man, aged in his 20s, on suspicion of manslaughter; he was later bailed as detectives continued to investigate the incident.

Forensic work was carried out in the car park

At the opening of Jolene’s inquest at Wiltshire and Swindon Coroner’s Court, it was confirmed that her cause of death was an overdose – with multiple drugs in her system.

The inquest was adjourned for a full hearing on a date to be fixed.
