A woman remains in hospital critically ill as her son appears in court accused of stabbing her in the head at her bungalow in rural Wiltshire on Monday evening.
Police officers raced to reports of a disturbance at the detached village home in the village of Shalbourne at around 7.30pm discovering Linda and Adrian Holford seriously injured.
James Wells, of of Seymour Road, Lee-on-Solent, Hampshire, is accused of the attempted murder of both his mother and step-father at the property.
Linda, who is in a coma at Southampton Hospital, was allegedly stabbed in the head with a screwdriver. It’s understood Adrian also remains in hospital at the moment.
Wells didn’t enter a plea at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning, and was remanded in custody until 1 May when he’s due to appear at Bristol Crown Court.
Crime scene investigators remain working at the scene near Marlborough.
