Woman charged with assaulting police officer at Booth House medical incident

A police officer was assaulted whilst attending a medical incident in Swindon on Sunday.

The ambulance service was initially called to a suspected overdose outside Booth House at around 8pm. Shortly after arriving, they requested backup from the police.

Officers attended the scene and during the incident, one was punched in the chest and spat at.

A local woman was arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker.

19-year-old Teigan Lloyd, of Bath Road, Swindon, was charged with assaulting an emergency worker. She has been released on unconditional bail to appear in court at a later date.

Wiltshire 999s’ readers reported seeing a significant police and ambulance presence at the scene on Sunday evening, with a number of casualties being treated on the floor.
