The order gives police the power to remove people attending the rave after being directed to leave.

Local residents reported hearing music at 8am, suggesting that the event continued despite the order.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “At 12.45am this morning we were made aware of a large number of vehicles and people gathering in Grovely Wood, Great Wishford.

“Officers attended the scene and located approximately 100 vehicles and 500 people at the location.

“The situation was monitored and a number of road closures were put in place on roads in the local area to prevent further cars attending.

“The group were served a Section 63 order requesting them to leave the site by midday today.”
