Wiltshire Police ‘handling multiple emergency calls relating to snow’

Wiltshire Police is ‘handling multiple emergency calls relating to the snow’.

As expected, officers are responding to 999 calls across areas of the county where snow has fallen – including Chippenham, Trowbridge and Malmesbury.

The force is asking residents to “take care” if they’re venturing out today – whether on foot or in a vehicle.

A police spokesperson said: “Due to the weather conditions, please take care if you’re going out this morning.

“We are already handling multiple calls and reports relating to the cold and the snow.

“If you are going out please drive carefully and allow extra time for your journey.”

National Highways are also reporting snow across their network, including in Wiltshire, and are asking motorists to take hot drinks and warm clothing with them.

A spokesperson said: “If you need to venture out in this weather, please pack extra provisions such as warm clothing and hot drinks, fully clear all windows and leave extra distance between vehicles.”
