Wiltshire Police cordon off area in Salisbury after discovery of a ‘grenade’

Police have cordoned off an area in Salisbury following the discovery of a ‘grenade’.

Officers were called to the scene near Kivel Court at around 2pm today (Monday) after the suspected explosive was located.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “A cordon has been put in place near to Kivel Court, Salisbury, following the discovering of a suspected grenade shortly before 2pm today.

“Explosive Ordnance Disposal specialists are currently at the scene and will be destroying the item shortly.

“Please avoid the area and respect the cordons whilst they are in place.”
