Wiltshire firefighters assist at major blaze in Hampshire village

A number of firefighters from south Wiltshire were called on to assist another service at a major fire across the border in Hampshire earlier today.

Emergency services were called to the village of Damerham at before 5pm, on Sunday 7 May, where they discovered a thatched cottage well alight.

In total, more than 80 firefighters, including some from Amesbury, were fighting the severe blaze until approximately 6.30pm when it was fully extinguished.
