Wiltshire Air Ambulance lands for cyclist struck by a car in Royal Wootton Bassett

A cyclist was struck by a car in Royal Wootton Bassett this morning.

Police officers closed the A3102, between Longleaze and Marlowe Way following the road traffic collision outside the BP Garage at around 11am.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance landed in Fairfield Park – just behind the garage – so the charity’s critical care medics could provide emergency medical care to the casualty who is thought to have suffered serious injuries.

If a forensic collision investigation is required, the road could be closed for several hours.
