It’s the third recorded laser attack on the life-saving helicopter this year, with the last being in Chippenham in July – after aircraft had taken a critically injured Chippenham woman to hospital.

The attack happened when the helicopter was circling Hilperton looking for a landing site

Laser attacks are not only illegal but pose a danger to the crew and can prevent us from carrying out our lifesaving work due to having to abort landings”, a Wiltshire Air Ambulance spokesperson said.

Shining a laser at an aircraft is a criminal offence which can land you up to five years imprisonment.
