Vulnerable woman rescued by firefighters after 24 hours on Sherston rooftop

A woman on a rooftop has been brought down safely by firefighters.

The vulnerable woman, who was on a roof in Sherston for nearly 24 hours, was rescued via a rope by fire crews from Trowbridge and Chippenham this afternoon.

All three emergency services had been at the scene since yesterday afternoon, 27 July.

A police officer at the scene said that the mental health crisis team didn’t attend.

Earlier today, a Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We are currently attending an incident in Sherston involving a vulnerable woman on the roof of a property.

“A number of local roads may be affected as emergency service vehicles come and go.”
