UPDATED: Police officers bring down suicidal man from seven storey car park

Swindon town centre roads were closed this morning, after a man threatened to jump from a car park.

Police officers and paramedics rushed to the scene on Islington Street at around 11am today.

A male – thought to be in his 30s – was on the edge of the seventh floor of the Whalebridge Car Park.

At around 12.30pm, the man was brought down from the ledge and has been taken to an ambulance.

The road fully reopened at 12.45pm.
