Two teens charged with setting fire to Melksham community centre

Two teens have been charged with setting fire to a Melksham community centre.

Three fire crews were called to Forest Community Centre in Bowmans Court at around 6.30pm on Friday (23 February) following reports of a blaze.

On arrival, the building was found to be well alight – with firefighters tackling flames in the changing rooms, which were completely destroyed.

Wiltshire Police arrested two teenage boys, aged 15 and 16, on suspicion of arson and questioned them in connection with the incident.

Both local males have been charged with the offence and were remanded in police custody.

They are due to appear before Salisbury Magistrates’ Court this morning (Monday).
