Two teenagers arrested after fire in Trowbridge school toilets

Two teenagers have been arrested following a fire at a school in Trowbridge.

The fire service were called to The John of Gaunt School on Wingfield Road at around 12.25pm this afternoon following reports of a blaze in the toilets block.

The blaze is believed to have been started deliberately and an investigation has been launched.

Firefighters from Bradford-on-Avon, Westbury and Trowbridge, along with one fire engine and an aerial from Bath fire station, attended the incident.

Acting Inspector Louis McCoy said: “No pupils or staff were injured in the incident and the fire was quickly put out.  Local Community Policing Officers will be conducting an investigation into this incident.”

Two boys, aged 15 and 16, have been arrested and have been taken to Melksham custody.
