Two teenage boys arrested following knifepoint robbery in Swindon town centre

Two teenage boys have been arrested following a knife-point street robbery in Swindon yesterday.

At around 11am on Wednesday, 3 January, two young men demanded money from their chosen victims, making threats to kill them before money was then handed over.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened on Manchester Road.

Two males from Swindon were arrested: a 14-year-old on suspicion of robbery and possessing a knife and a 17-year-old on suspicion of robbery, possessing a knife and threats to kill.

Both have been released on conditional bail until the end of this month.

Local Crime Investigator (LCI) Dee Williams said: “We’re appealing for anyone who may have heard or seen anything suspicious in this busy area around this time.

“Also, we are appealing for anyone who may have CCTV footage of this incident to come forward.”
