Two arrested on suspicion of arson following serious Trowbridge house fire

Police investigating a house fire in Trowbridge over the weekend have arrested two men.

The blaze broke out at a property in Frome Road in the early hours of Saturday 13 January.

Two local men, aged 44 and 55, have been arrested on suspicion of committing arson with intent to endanger life and are currently in police custody. They are connected to the address of the fire.

A woman who was injured in the fire remains in hospital in a critical but stable condition.

A police spokesperson said: “Our investigation into the fire is still ongoing; we continue to work with Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service to establish the cause.

“Anyone who has any information is asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101.”
