Specialist negotiators are working to bring the incident to an end peacefully – after a man inside the address reportedly made arson threats.

Two South Western Ambulance Service Hazardous Area Response Teams (HART) from Bristol are on standby in the street.

In a statement, Wiltshire Police said: “Our officers are currently at the scene of an ongoing incident at a property in Glebe Road, Trowbridge.

“This relates to concerns for the safety of a man inside a property who we are currently engaging with. There is no wider threat to members of the local community.

“We have closed Glebe Road as a precaution and we are requesting that members of the public should avoid the area to allow emergency services to resolve the incident.”
