Trowbridge man who died in The Shires car park named

The man who died in a Trowbridge car park last week has been named.

Kieren Church, aged 30 of no fixed address, died at around 3:00pm on Thursday afternoon, in The Shires car park, near Asda.

A 20-year-old man from Trowbridge was arrested on suspicion of manslaughter, and bailed pending further enquiries. He is due to return to Melksham police station on a date in May.

The man arrested is a security guard from a local store and tackled Kieran, believing him to be a suspected shoplifter. He fell to the ground, causing a number of glass bottles he was concealing to smash. Keiren suffered significant injuries and despite the best efforts from paramedics, Kieran died at the scene.

Kieren’s family paid tribute, saying: “Kieren was a much loved son, brother, grandson and friend to many. He will be sadly missed.”
