Trowbridge woman sent back to prison after police find hard drugs

A Trowbridge woman was sent back to prison after police found hard drugs.

28-year-old Abbie Powter was found to have heroin in her possession on 11 August this year, Swindon Magistrates’ Court heard on 12 August.

The defendant had recently been released from prison after she served part of a two-year sentence for burglary and assaulting emergency workers.

As a result of the new offending, Powter was recalled to serve the rest of her custodial term – and is now back behind bars.

Magistrates, given the circumstances, imposed an £80 fine and ordered her to pay a £32 surcharge. The heroin will be destroyed.
