Trains cancelled and delayed after person struck on railway in Bath area

Trains have been cancelled after a person was struck by a train this morning (10 November).

The incident is understood the person fell from a railway bridge in Bath around 11am, with the mainline between London and Bristol affected.

Emergency services are on scene, providing medical care to the casualty who is alive.

In a statement on its website, a Great Western Railway spokesperson wrote: “Due to a person hit by a train the line is blocked. Disruption is expected until 13:30 10/11.

“Train services between Bristol Temple Meads and Swindon may be cancelled or delayed.

“Train services between Bristol Temple Meads and Westbury may be cancelled or delayed.”
