Tisbury blaze spreads to train line as firefighters tackle flames

A property blaze has spread to a train line as firefighters try to tackle the flames.

Emergency services were called to the incident at the former Station Works in Tisbury at around 6.30pm this evening (Wednesday).

Approximately seven fire engines and other fire appliances are currently in attendance.

In a statement, Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We’re currently dealing with an incident in Tisbury – the fire has spread from a property to the surrounding area including the train line.

“Local residents are advised to keep doors and windows shut due to the smoke plume. Please avoid the area where possible.”
