Swindon teens arrested after ‘threatening to kill police officers with machete’

Two teenagers have been arrested after ‘threatening to kill police officers with a machete’.

The officers managed to stop a stolen moped in Buckhurst Field, Walcot, on Friday evening (10 February).

The rider, a 17-year-old male, allegedly threatened to kill the officers whilst brandishing a bladed article.

The suspect was, following a short chase, arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs, dangerous driving, failing to stop, theft of a motor vehicle, threats to kill and possession of an offensive weapon.

The moped pillion, an 18-year-old woman, was arrested on suspicion of possession of class A and B drugs, possession of class A and B drugs and theft of a vehicle.

Discarded drugs and a machete were retrieved by police dog Conan and his handler after they retraced the suspects’ route.

Both suspects have been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
