Swindon teenager who suffered cardiac arrest during football training dies

A teenager has died after suffering a cardiac arrest at a football training session last week.

999 crews, including Wiltshire Air Ambulance, raced to the scene at Croft Sports Centre in Swindon on 31 January – where facility staff were already battling to save the young man’s life.

16-year-old Fletcher passed away shortly after being flown to Southampton General Hospital.

Family and friends have since launched a GoFundMe page with the aim of ‘supporting his family financially, and allow them time to grieve as a family without the added worry of financial pressures.’
