Swindon racist who called mother and daughter N-word shows little remorse

A racist who called a mother and daughter the N-word showed little remorse outside court.

59-year-old Sheree Webb appeared at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (29 September) to be sentenced for two racially-aggravated public order offences and criminal damage.

The defendant, of Crawford Close, previously pleaded guilty to the crimes – in which she targeted a black woman and her young daughter in the street on 19 January this year.

Keith Ballinger, prosecuting, said the pair were walking back from Asda at 2pm in the afternoon when Webb pulled a face at them before calling them “n***ers” multiple times.

Later that day, she stood outside the victims’ home – which is on the same road as her – and threw a small stone at their door, breaking a panel of glass.

Mr Ballinger said the mother and daughter have had ongoing issues with Webb, and are concerned about what she might do next.

In custody, the defendant admitted her crimes and told officers that it was in retaliation to an ongoing dispute over money which she claims she gave to her neighbour.

The court heard that Webb appeared in court in March this year, where she admitted an unrelated racially-aggravated public order offence – for which she received a fine.

Representing herself, she told the magistrates that one of the victims in this case “keeps calling me the fat white woman with the saggy white tits”.

She added: “It’s money money money, she wanted money. I gave them £100 within two months but I can’t sustain it. I have never asked for a penny back, I am petrified to call the police for anything.

“Every day I’m living in fear, I can’t go out at night, I’m scared – she is constantly drinking and smoking cannabis.”

Whimpering in the dock, Webb continued: “Twice I’ve done it, and I’m truly sorry for it… please.”

Taking into account that there appears to be an ongoing two-sided neighbour dispute, the magistrates imposed a 12-month community order with the requirement to complete 20 retaliation activity days.

She must also pay a fine of £160, compensation of £165 for the door repair, a £95 surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.

Outside court following sentencing, she told Wiltshire 999s: “I’ve been ripped off again”, and posed for photographs with her arms in the air.
