Swindon man shot dead by police following ‘row with neighbour’ named locally

A man who was shot dead by police responding to a disturbance in Swindon in the early hours of this morning has been named locally.

Eyewitnesses said 57-year-old Graham ‘Tommy’ Trinder was fatally wounded by armed police when he failed to put down a gun – now thought to be an air rifle – as instructed.

Police officers were called to a heated argument between neighbours in Summers Street in the moments prior to the shooting at around 2am this morning.
