A man faces a potential prison sentence for strangling his wife in an attack.

At Swindon Magistrates’ Court yesterday (8 December), Darren Jackson pleaded guilty to a charge of non-fatal intentional strangulation.

The 54-year-old, of Tulip Tree Close in Pinehurst, was told the sentencing guidelines for his admitted crime start at 36 weeks imprisonment.

Magistrates described the incident as “extremely serious” and the case was adjourned until January for a pre-sentence report to be compiled.

He was released on bail with conditions not to contact a number of people listed. Jackson is also prohibited from going to Lyndhurst Crescent in Park North.
