Swindon man, 20, who led police on dangerous chase faces prison time

A man who led police on a dangerous chase faces a prison sentence, a court heard.

20-year-old Daniel Wooding pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving otherwise in accordance with a licence and without insurance at Swindon Magistrates’ Court.

Charges of failing to stop for the police and driving without due care and attention were dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service.

It’s alleged the defendant, of The Heights, Old Town, was pursued by police as he rode a Rieju motorcycle in the Marlborough Road area on 3 September.

Because the sentencing guidelines meant Wooding faces a potential prison term, District Judge Joanna Dickens adjourned the case for a pre-sentence report.

He was released on unconditional bail and must return to court on 8 November.
