Suspected drug driver with child in car arrested after tints attract attention

A suspected drug driver has been arrested after being stopped by police in Swindon.

Roads policing officers stopped the black Mercedes in Queens Drive this morning (Saturday) over serious concerns about its front side window tints.

The driver, who had a child on board, was subsequently asked to provide a specimen of saliva for a roadside drug wipe – which showed as positive for cannabis.

In relation to the tinted windows, testing revealed that they only allowed 16% light through – with the legal requirement being 70%.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and taken to Gablecross custody.
