A suspected drink driver was ‘found with a knife’ after he ‘annoyed police officers’ in a car park.
The police had arrested a drink driver outside Tesco, in Tidworth, yesterday afternoon (26 March), when a male came over to them and began ‘causing a nuisance’.
The male had been seen to drive a vehicle into the car park prior to approaching the officers.
As a result of his behaviour towards them and the smell of alcohol, they asked him to provide a sample of breath.
Wiltshire Police alleged the male refused to provide a sample and was subsequently arrested.
During a search of his person, prior to being transported to custody, officers are said to have found a folding lock knife disguised as a credit card.
In a statement, the force announced that the man has been charged with failing to provide a specimen of breath, for causing harassment, alarm, and distress (public order offence), and for being in possession of a bladed article.
