‘Suicidal’ missing man from Gloucester sparks search of Wiltshire town

A ‘suicidal’ missing man from Gloucester sparked a search of a Wiltshire town.

Concerned for his welfare, officers flooded Malmesbury from approximately 5.30pm yesterday evening (Monday 3 July).

The National Police Air Service helicopter from Bristol also attended – circling above the area for about 45 minutes as half a dozen police vehicles patrolled.

Officers were spotted entering two pubs as part of their enquiries, with dog units from both Gloucestershire and Wiltshire forces carrying out searches.

A Wiltshire Police dog was even deployed in Malmesbury Cemetery at around 6pm.

Today it was confirmed that officers located the missing man and he was safe.
