Specialist rescue paramedics attend medical incident in Chippenham

A casualty’s been taken to hospital following an incident in Chippenham this evening.

Specialist Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) paramedics were called to the scene in the Warwick Close area alongside Wiltshire Air Ambulance at around 4.30pm.

The nature of the medical emergency is unclear but HART medics, based out of Bristol, are usually sent to rescue-related incidents where the casualty has suffered injuries in hazardous or difficult circumstances.

The air ambulance touched down in Levi’s Park, off Sarum Road.

One casualty was taken to Royal United Hospital in Bath by land ambulance accompanied by critical care paramedics.

Wiltshire 999s understands Wiltshire Police were also at the scene leading the incident. We’ve approached them for comment; an update will be provided when available.
