Smokey scenes in Old Town as three fire crews respond to blaze in Swindon

There are smokey scenes in Swindon’s Old Town this Saturday morning (16 October).

Three fire crews are currently (9am) tackling a blaze at a property in Newport Street, near the Steam Railway pub.

Smoke could be seen coming from a building, believed to print shop Minuteman Press.

The road is partially blocked near the junction for Hoopers Place.

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We currently have four crews in attendance at a fire in Newport Street, Swindon.

“The incident is under control but there are some traffic issues so please avoid the area if you can.”
