Smoke billows from block of flats in Tidworth during serious blaze

Firefighters were called to a serious flat blaze in Tidworth this morning (Saturday).

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service dispatched crews to the incident, just off Bourne Road and Kennet Road, at around 9.45am.

Five fire appliances appeared to be in attendance as flames protruded from the building.

Smoke billowed from windows and the building’s roof ahead of firefighters’ arrival on the scene.

Nobody’s believed to have been injured, but this is yet to be confirmed by officials.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, though locals say it was caused by an electric heater.
