Six fire crews rush to kitchen fire in ten-storey Penhill high-rise flats

Six fire crews are at the scene of a fire at a ten-storey high-rise building.

Firefighters from across Wiltshire and Gloucestershire were called to Upavon Court, on Everleigh Road, at 12.42pm this afternoon, 4 April.

Two fire crews from Stratton, one from Westlea, one from Royal Wootton Bassett, one from Marlborough and one from Cirencester make up the six engines on scene.

It is understood that the fire started in the kitchen of a flat on the sixth floor.

A woman is being treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation.

Six firefighters in breathing apparatus are using three main jets to fight to fire.
