Severe delays on A303 near Stonehenge after lorry trailer overturns

There are delays on the A303 after a trailer overturned earlier today (24 August).

Police have closed one lane on the A303 approaching Longbarrow Roundabout near Stonehenge following the incident at around 9am.

This morning, a spokesperson for National Highways, formerly known as Highways England, said: “Traffic is currently able to pass with caution but congestion is building on the eastbound heading towards the roundabout. Please take care on approach.”

Recovery work at the scene remained underway at 2pm, but the road isn’t expected to be fully reopened until 3pm.

The road has reopened following a lengthy recovery operation.
