Several people injured in Royal Wootton Bassett hit and run

Several people have been injured in a hit and run in Royal Wootton Bassett.

Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Bincknoll Lane at around 7pm yesterday evening (Tuesday, 5 September).

A blue Ford Fiesta impacted a silver Kia Picanto on the roundabout for Interface Business Park.

The occupants of the Kia, and the passenger of the Ford, sustained injuries in the head-on crash.

Ambulance and fire crews attended the scene, treating several casualties.

The driver of the Ford fled the scene on foot, according to Wiltshire Police. Searches were carried out using a drone and a police dog but it’s not clear if any arrests were made.

The road was closed for about an hour before the vehicles were recovered.
