Serious crash closes A419 as Wiltshire Air Ambulance lands near scene

A serious road traffic collision has closed the A419 in Cirencester in both directions.

Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle crash in Stroud Road at around 1.40pm today (Friday, 15 July).

At least one casualty was rushed to Bristol’s Southmead Hospital with serious injuries.

The main route, between A429 Tetbury Road roundabout and Royal Agricultural University, is closed in both directions.

The road is expected to remain closed into tonight. Motorists are being asked to plan their route in advance and avoid the area.
