The road outside Wiltshire Police headquarters remains closed after Storm Eunice.

London Road in Devizes was shut yesterday afternoon (18 February), after high winds knocked down a tree which subsequently brought down electricity cables.

The road has been cordoned off as a matter of public safety.

Strong winds caused damage across the region yesterday, meaning engineers are stretched. Dozens of trees were down across Wiltshire.

It’s not yet known how long London Road will have to remain closed to motorists.

Other roads across the county are expected to remain closed as council workers and other professionals work to clear routes and fix the damage.

Near Bradford on Avon, three people – including a young child – were rushed to hospital when a large tree fell on their vehicle.

In Swindon, a wall collapsed on a car causing severe damage. The road remains shut due to the safety risk.
