A railway line in Wiltshire is blocked as emergency services deal with an incident.

999 crews rushed to the scene in the Trowbridge area shortly after 12pm today (Wednesday).

At least three police vehicles, an ambulance, an ambulance officer and a fire engine are in attendance.

The railway lines between Westbury and Bath Spa and Westbury and Chippenham are on hold and services may be cancelled due to the ongoing incident.

A spokesperson for Great Western Railway said disruption can be expected until 3pm.

“Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident near the railway between Westbury and Trowbridge, all lines are blocked”, they said.

Adding: “Services between Westbury and Bath Spa, and Westbury and Chippenham may be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until 15:00.”
