Public toilets cordoned off as police arrest suspected rapist in Salisbury

Police have arrested a suspected rapist following an incident in Salisbury.

Public toilets in Market Square were cordoned off as a crime scene following reports of a sex attack at around 3.40am on Saturday (17 June).

An investigation is ongoing, with officers carrying out door-to-door enquiries and gathering CCTV evidence following the alleged serious sexual assault.

A 36-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of rape – but has since been released on bail.
