Pregnant woman’s £20 note stolen from Asda till while juggling two children

A woman’s had a £20 note stolen from behind her back as she juggled her two children at the self-service till at a Swindon supermarket this afternoon.

The incident happened as the pregnant 21-year-old paid for her shopping at Asda in west Swindon, with her two-year-old Autistic son and one-year-old daughter in tow.

Ordering cash back on her small shop at 4pm, a £20 note was dispensed from the machine while she had turned her back for a short time to grab her runaway toddler.

In the drama, she forgot about the £20 cash back and exited the store.

On remembering about her cash back just a few minutes later while driving away from Asda, she called the store to discover that £20 had not be handed in.

“I called Asda and spoke to the security team who looked at their CCTV said the money was not handed in, and was taken by a person very well known to them”, she said.

“I doubt I’ll see the £20 again; the thief had obviously watched me walk away while sorting out my kids and just pocketed the money instead of being a decent person.”
