Police units and helicopter rushed to Swindon after reports of knife fight

Dozens of police officers and the police helicopter have rushed to one part of Swindon tonight, amid reports of a knife fight between rival gangs.

A number of witnesses described seeing more than ten police vehicles head into the Penhill/Pinehurst estate at before 9.30pm today, 25 July.

The National Police Air Support unit was hovering over the area for some time.

One resident said there are ‘two gangs of young people fighting each other with knives’.

Wiltshire Police has been approached for comment.
