Police operation underway at Swindon park as person reported missing

An urgent search is underway in Swindon after a person was reported missing.

Police have reportedly closed Moulden Hill Country Park, off Thamesdown Drive, to visitors as officers look for the person – who is classified as ‘high-risk’.

The charity Wiltshire Search and Rescue has deployed its volunteers at the request of Wiltshire Police and they have begun combing the area.

The National Police Air Service helicopter from Birmingham arrived over Swindon at around 10.30am, circling above the popular park before returning to base.

At present, the force has not released any details about the missing person – so we’re unable to provide a description of them.

However, if you notice anybody in distress or appearing lost and confused, please call 101. Always call 999 in an emergency.
