Police called after two women bitten by ‘out of control’ dogs in Swindon street

Two women were bitten by a pair of ‘out of control’ dogs in Swindon last Sunday.

Police officers responded to reports of the pets running loose in the Montagu Street and Drew Street area of Rodbourne at around 7pm on 29 May.

The duo, thought to be French Bulldogs, escaped from the garden of an address nearby and caused chaos in the street – biting two people as tried to help.

Locals claim the dogs live outside in the garden – and some suggested they are mistreated. Others claim they hear the pair ‘constantly crying and barking’ outdoors.

One of the women reportedly sustained a small puncture wound to the ankle. The other woman’s injuries are unknown. Neither of the injured women are thought to have required hospital treatment.

The attending officers are said to have successfully caught the pair and returned them home.

Wiltshire Police confirmed two people suffered minor injuries during the incident.

A force spokesperson said the dogs were “reunited with their owners who were given words of advice”.
