Police step up patrols in Broadgreen as dozens gather for barbershop party

Wiltshire Police has stepped up patrols in the Broadgreen area of Swindon tonight as dozens of people gather in the street for a party hosted by a barbershop.

Around one hundred people were in the vicinity of A Style Barbers in Manchester Road, where it appears an opening anniversary event is being held, from around 8.30pm.

Neighbourhood policing team officers were sent to the area, with at least seven police vehicles parked or patrolling to ensure the safety of those attending and members of the public.

Officers were forced to repeatedly encourage partygoers to remove themselves from the middle of the road as traffic began to build up due to the obstruction.

Cars were speeding along the road and a quad bike rider was seen performing wheelies – many in front of police as they watched on. Some drivers were spoken to by officers, others were ignored.
