Police seize car for forensic examination after Swindon hit-and-run

POLICE HOLD BLANKETS AROUND THE INJURED WOMAN

A man’s car has been seized for forensic examination after a woman suffered a fractured skull in what police believe was a hit-and-run late on Monday evening.

Emergency services, including specialist critical care medics from Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Great Western Air Ambulance and SWIFT Medics, were called to the scene on County Road at around 9pm.

The casualty, in her 30s, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by land ambulance, but hasn’t suffered any life-threatening or life-changing.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “[We have] interviewed one man in relation to the incident.

“A vehicle has also been seized for a forensic examination to be carried out.

“No arrests have been made at this time and enquiries remain ongoing.

“We are continuing to appeal for anyone with information in relation to the incident, who has not already contacted police, to please do so on 101 and quote crime reference 54180102651.”
