Major search operation underway for missing 22-year-old from Wanborough

UPDATE: Wiltshire Police say Lucy was found safe in the early hours of Friday morning — around five hours into the search operation.

Police are searching for a missing 22-year-old woman from a village near Swindon tonight.

A large number of officers — supported by the police helicopter and a dog unit — are looking for Lucy DeVal, who was last seen in Wanborough at around 8.45pm.

Police say they are “very concerned” for her welfare and say she is likely to be on foot; she also does not have any money with her.

She is said to be wearing a mustard colour long-sleeve top and grey canvas shoes.

Wiltshire Search and Rescue have joined the search, setting up base behind The Harrow Inn in High Street. At least ten search volunteers are currently involved.

Anyone with information regarding Lucy’s whereabouts, or anyone who has sighted her since her disappearance, should call 101 or 999 (as appropriate).
