A disaster was averted when police were called to a distressed man in Swindon last night.

The officers engaged with the man and managed to bring him to safety within 30 minutes.

Wiltshire Police confirmed they were called to “welfare concerns for an adult male”.

The force said he was in the responding officers’ care by 8.30pm.
