Police ramp up hunt for missing Swindon man as search and rescue tasked

Police have ramped up the hunt for a man who went missing in the Swindon area.

Volunteers from Wiltshire Search and Rescue have been tasked with locating 59-year-old Brian Roberts, who was last seen before Christmas (23 December).

The team will be searching various locations in Swindon, including Coate Water Country Park.

Officers are “increasingly concerned for his welfare” following his disappearance from his home in Old Walcot.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Brian was last seen on December 23 and has not been seen since – we are increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“If you recognise him or have any information as to his whereabouts, please call us on 101 and quote reference number 54230001127.

“We would also like to directly appeal to Brian – please let us know you are safe either by contacting a friend or family member, attending a local police station or calling us on 101.”
