Police car chase ends in quiet Swindon street with car’s occupants running off

A car chase came to an end in a quiet residential street in Swindon this evening.

Police officers were understood to be in pursuit of a black Ford Fiesta across parts of Stratton when it turned off Kingsdown Road and stopped near a secluded footpath on Taylor Crescent at 7.30pm.

It’s believed that the occupant/s of the vehicle made off on foot, with police dogs hot on their heels.

Two police officers were at the scene where the Fiesta stopped, conducting a search of the vehicle. A number of items were put into evidence bags and sealed.

It’s not known exactly how many police vehicles were involved in the pursuit, but eight cars were seen racing down Kingsdown Road at around 7.20pm.
