Police make arrest as man stabbed in Swindon town centre

Police have made an arrest after a man was stabbed in Swindon town centre.

Emergency services were called to Spring Gardens, off Princes Street, shortly before 9pm yesterday evening (Sunday, 21 January).

A man, aged in his 50s, was “struck with a blade”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said.

A manhunt resulted in the arrest of a man, aged in his 20s, in the town centre this morning (Monday).

He is being held in custody on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.

The victim was treated for his injuries in hospital and discharged several hours later.
